Time to do a little weight calculations. I put the box for the trailer on the scales and then the tires.

I was extremely curious how much this little trailer was going to weigh. So I got out the bathroom scale and weighted each part. Here you can see the main box and the tongue are sitting on the scale. Then next picture shows that the box weighs 150 pounds. I think a lot of that weight is in the tongue. On the next trailer I build it will not have this heavy of a tongue.

So 150 pounds for the main section of the trailer. This is without the diamond plate and the tail gate but it's a good estimate.

Now I put the Axles on the magic measuring device and came up with 170 pounds for the springs and the axle completely assembled.

So far 150 for the trailer box, and 170 for the axle and springs.

These are the tires I am going to be using, BFG AT's on 33 x 12.5 R 15. The are on some nice aluminum rims and I think they will work nicely for this little trailer. I can also use these as a spare for my Jeep, I matched the tire size and bolt pattern to my Jeep TJ.

Each tire weighs 70 pounds. so 140 for the pair.

To total is up 150 + 170 + 140 = 460 pounds for roughly the whole trailer. The diamond plate weighs in at 67 pounds so add that and I am at about 527 pounds without a tail gate or shackles, or the Lunette. When I get the thing built I will be sure to go by a scale and weigh it.
